it's amazing how so many skilled ppl have nothing in between their ears..
it's difficult to find someone with the right skills and the right brains to be the complete player
whats harder to get? the skills or the smarts? i say the smarts
smarts can lead to skills... skills can lead to smarts
went for a run this afternoon. how horribly out of shape i am.. i was cruising the whole time... except the cruising was a little bit harder than it usually is
i always start and end my runs at my elementary school.. so after my run, im stretching and school's out! kids run out and everything.. good memories of my days about 15 years ago.. so long ago.. as i was walking through them going home, i remember what it was like to be one of them... and for a second i was.. i had no identity.. literally.. no cell phone on me.. no wallet, no id whatsoever.. i was just a guy in tshirt and shorts.. if i died there, no one would know who i am. but that felt good... i dunno why.. but that feeling felt good
note to self: im not young anymore. takes more work to get into shape
talking is just talking.. talk talk talk.. there's this person on the dragonboat team who talks so damn much during practice.. telling the team what to do. telling them to pick it up, etc. when this person clearly does not pull his/her own weight.. i just want to turn around and tell the person to stfu. more paddling, less talking. stop being dead weight
the team's last practice was horrible. lacked energy.. you reap what you sow. you slack off and cheat during training throughout the school year, you pay. you cant keep up.
so ppl can cheat, slack, and keep talking all they want. but they arent leaders. you can be a leader on paper and in name, but it doesnt mean you are in reality... de facto/de jure. these ppl wont get my respect.
there are many types of leaders.. hard to define what makes on a leader.. you just know sometimes.. but it's clear what a leader is NOT... it's hard to find a leader these days. where hath they all gone?

spring training and im already in a slump. somethings never change
the crappiest thing about reading while taking a crap, is when the book gets good. you're already done your business but you sit to enjoy what you're reading. when you're reading something like a novel, it's long and cant be finished in one sitting.. so you read it in chapters, etc.
then it gets good. the suspense builds. you want to keep on reading. but it's been 20, 30mins. what to do?
A: you keep reading and your leg gets more and more numb... by the time you get up, you're basically crippled
B: you get up, bookmark the book, and enjoy it next time you take a crap
